Tamalyn Dallal

The song"Rainy Day in Zanzibar" is from Tamalyn's Cd "Made in Zanzibar". Matona directed and arranged the music for the Ikhwan Safaa Orchestra combining classical music (Canon in D) with Zanzibari Taarab (NiPePe by Seif Salum), and Arabian style qanun taksims. The dancers performed in front of a film projection of the same dance done months earlier in China, mixed with images of Ikhwan Safaa performing the song in ZAnzibar.
