Welcome! (In Egypt, they say "Ahlan Wasahlan.")

Tamalyn Dallal has dedicated her life to Raqs Sharqi (AKA “Bellydance.”) She dances it as a daily practice for health, healing, exercise and relaxation. This dance is a “miracle dance” that reduces stress and helps us appreciate and love Egyptian, Turkish and Levantine music and culture.

Variations and Unusual Moves

While basics are extremely important, it is good to have your bag of surprises. These are moves that are interesting and mysterious. You might see them and say "I'm not familiar with this move. How is it done?" Tamalyn will break down many interesting moves and show unexpected variations on the moves we know and love.

Recordings of each class will be available the same day on Zoom. You can request Google Drive versions e mailed to you as well.
4 classes, March 4-25, $55

"Nebtidi Mnin Al Hikaya"
This song is one of the most famous songs to dance to from Egypt's Golden Age. Composed by Mohammed Abdel Wahab and made famous by the singer Abdel Halim Hafez, it means "Where do we begin?"

Recordings of each class will be available the same day on Zoom and/or Google Drive
4 Classes Marck 5-26

Thursdays, 12 Noon -1pm CST

Hands and arms, we think of slow and ethereal. Shimmies we think fast and earthy. This is true, and they are connected, compliment one another and it's good to explore them together.

Recordings of each class will be available the same day on Zoom and/or Google Drive

5 Thursdays, March 7-28
$55

In addition to my March series of classes on Zoom, I am adding bi-monthly "Reruns."
For the months of February-March will be featured the choreography of  "Nostalgias" from 2021. This song is by the Ilahun Band of Argentina and is beloved by dancers the world over. This choreography was an inspiration to many dancers during the pandemic. It is time to bring it back. Each month, in 2024, a favorite choreography will be available $50.
Recordings are on Google Drive, which you can keep to study with over and over.
Available February 1,- 29, 2024

This series covers Tamalyn's clear and concise approach to basic bellydance movement. In every dance form it is important to have a good base. This class is appropriate for beginners as well as dancers who want to review and polish the basics.
